Writing tasks can be especially challenging for neurodiverse students, who may struggle with organization, focus, or written expression. At the same time, educators are seeking practical, ethical tools to support all learners, especially in increasingly diverse classrooms. This research examines how AI can act as a personalized support tool for students and a pedagogical aid for teachers, helping to reduce barriers and promote equity.
What We’re Doing:
Through a combination of classroom-based studies, interviews, and student writing sessions, this research gathers insights from both students and educators. We look at how students use ChatGPT for brainstorming, drafting, and revising, and how teachers can guide its use effectively. The project also evaluates the potential benefits and limitations of integrating AI into writing instruction.
